This page explains how to delete your Daata account and what happens to your data, in line with Google Play requirements.

How to delete your account

Option A — In the app (recommended)

  1. Open Daata.
  2. Go to Settings (gear icon).
  3. Tap Delete account.
  4. Confirm. Your account and associated data are permanently deleted.

Option B — By request

If you cannot access the app, email support@daata.in from the email address registered to your account, with the subject “Delete my account”. We will verify your request and delete your account, normally within 30 days.

What data is deleted

When you delete your account, we permanently remove:

  • Your account and profile (email, name, profile photo).
  • Your listings and their uploaded photos.
  • Your messages, item requests, reviews, hand-off records, and blocks associated with your account.
  • Your uploaded files in storage (listing photos, profile photo, chat images).
  • Your push notification token and analytics identifier link.

Deletion is immediate and irreversible — deleted data cannot be recovered.

What may be retained, and why

We may retain a limited amount of information after deletion only where necessary to:

  • comply with legal, tax, or regulatory obligations,
  • resolve disputes or enforce our Terms, or
  • prevent fraud and abuse.

Any such data is kept only for as long as required and then deleted. Content you sent to other users (for example, a message already delivered) may remain in that other user’s view, and anonymised/aggregated analytics that no longer identify you may be retained.

Retention period

Outside the limited exceptions above, your personal data is deleted within 30 days of your request.
